Karl Lagerfeld ha pasado de sus diseños de la moda textil al industrial. Ha optado por diseñar tanto el armazón como la decoracion interior de los helicopteros de la firma AgustaWestland.
El primer aparato que decorará será un helicóptero bimotor AW139, de edición limitada. Un proyecto que tanto fabricantes como diseñador quieren extender a otros modelos.
